Come and meet with colleagues from the western U.S. working on various aspects of soilborne fungal pathogens, nematodes and diseases- from the molecular to the applied.  This meeting is very informal and loosely structured, allowing lots of time for discussions and interactions. We will have a field trip on Tues. March 28, including lunch.  Registration for the field trip will be $50. Tentative stops include a biocontrol company (Bayer Crop Science), California Department of Food and Agriculture in Sacramento and the Foundation Plant Services at UC Davis (grape and strawberry).We will have a social/dinner on the evening of March 28 at the University of California, Davis. The California Nematology Workgroup will also meet on Tues. March 28. Research presentations will be on Weds, March 29 and Thurs., March 30.  Keynote talks on the topic of “Deploying Host Resistance for Soilborne Disease Control” will be given Weds. morning March 29,  including talks by Steve Knapp and Glenn Cole on breeding strawberries for resistance to soilborne pathogens. Doug Gubler, professor emeritus at UC Davis, will give a talk on his life time of research on grape diseases on Thurs.  Lunch will be provided on Weds. March 29.  On Thurs, we will have keynote talks on grape diseases.
 
We will also be sponsoring two $500 student travel scholarships, more information can be found on the web site.  Deadline for applications is Jan. 31, 2017.
